If there is one marketing truth that everyone knows, it is that sex sells. Strangely enough, it is only recently that any company has marketed coffee using sex to attract a bigger market.
Seattle is considered the home of the biggest coffee chains. The competition for market share is fierce indeed. In order to get a share of the profit, one may need to resort to more creative tactics than just having a great brew.
This was the belief of some of the shop owners of cafes in Seattle and now you get quite an eyeful together with your coffee. The outfits in these coffee shops are pretty skimpy, ranging from hot pink pants and tight tank tops such as in the Natte Latte to baristas dressed in flimsy lingerie as in the Sweet Spot.
Is the coffee any better? The truth is, the brew is pretty much the same in all the shops – pretty good. Customers though, especially the males, prefer to go to cafes where the baristas are all dolled up. They say it gives an extra kick to their day, waking them up better than the coffee alone.
